About The New Local Group

The New Local started as a community radio show hosted by Lewis Adams and Tom O'Callaghan during Phoenix FM's first test broadcast in Bendigo on 12 January 2008. Since then, it has been a constant part of the Phoenix lineup.

While his copresenters have changed over the years, Lewis kept up his efforts to provide "new and local music from Australia and around the world" and include some variety and entertainment for the listeners on Sunday nights. Lewis currently hosts the show with Keegs Scilini and Clare Robinson.

In 2013, The New Local expanded onto the internet. With TheNewLocal.net, Lewis and the other contributors explore music, art and culture in Regional Victoria, shining a spotlight on artists and anyone with a passion for culture.

The New Local is still growing. Keep an eye on this site to see where we go.
